Rabies Investigations and Clinics

(Program)

* Provides rabies prevention including pet vaccination clinics.

* Assists with the treatment of rabies by administering follow up injections of the vaccination in the weeks following exposure.  Initial treatment must take place in a hospital emergency room.

Eligibility: Resident of Madison County.

Application Process: Call or walk in for post rabies exposure treatment, walk in for pet rabies clinic.

Required Documentation: Proof of prior vaccination for pet.

Fees: No cost for rabies clinics, post rabies exposure treatment not covered by insurance paid by Health Department.
