Compeer Program

(Program)

* Initiates matching of adult volunteers to provide a supportive friendship on a one-to-one basis with children and adults receiving mental health.

  • Individual training provided before matches are made.
  • Ongoing, post-match trainings offered.
  • Group trainings offered quarterly.
  • Pre-match and post-match support provided by Volunteer Coordinators.
  • Volunteer-client activities include friendly visits, social and cultural experiences, and special events.

* Offers Youth Mentoring and Adult Supportive Partners.

  • Skill building and goal management for your and adults experiencing mental health challenges

* Offers Compeer CORPS, a Veterans mentoring Program.

* Offers Compeer Calling/E-Buddies.

  • Telephone or e-mail support for referred clients waiting to be matched with volunteers.

* Offers volunteer opportunities.

Eligibility: Volunteers and Clients: ages 18 years and older.

Application Process: Volunteer: call for information. Clients: referrals made through a mental health provider or school counselor.

Required Documentation: None.

Fees: No fee for service.
