Elderly/Disability Services

(Program)

* Offers the following services:
  • Adult Day Services - Provides nutritious meals, social programing, supervision, personal care services, community outings, assistance with activities of daily living and door to door transportation (Oneida and parts of Herkimer counties only).
  • In-Home Companion Care - Offers companionship and assistance with everyday activities.
  • Caregiver Services - Provides community education, information, and referral for caregivers of the disabled or elderly.
  • Ombudsman Services - Provides information and advice to Nursing Facility residents who have issues with their services.
  • Money Follows the Person Program - Informs Nursing Home residents of community based living options and explains transition process.

Eligibility: Must be age 18 or older and have a disability or functional impairment.

Application Process: Call for appointment.

Required Documentation: Documentation of physical or mental limitations may be required.

Fees: Accepts Medicaid, private insurance, private pay, Medicaid Waivers (Traumatic Brain Injury, Nursing Home Transition and Diversion, Office for People with Developmental Disabilities), Managed Long Term Care Insurance, and Office for the Aging.

Herkimer, Madison, and Oneida Counties.

RCIL provides assistance to all individuals with any disability regardless of age, income or ability.RCIL's services are consumer-directed and geared toward increasing awareness of an individual's rights and options, as well as the various methods that are available to help them achieve the goals they have chosen for themselves.
