Discrimination Assistance

(Program)

* Provides investigation and mediation services for those who feel they have been discriminated on the basis of race, creed, color, national origin, physical disability, visual disability, psychiatric mental disability, marital status, age, sex, arrest or conviction, familial status, genetic predisposition, carrier status, sexual preference, military status, domestic violence victims,sexual harassment and pregnancy discrimination.

* Provides enforcement of State and Federal laws against discrimination.

Eligibility: Alleged discriminatory act occurred in New York State within one year prior to filing complaint. Willingness to cooperate during investigation.

Application Process: Call, visit office or go online. Complaint form available on web site or mailed upon request. Form must be notarized after completion.

Required Documentation: Photo ID may be required for notarization.

Fees: No fee for service.

Herkimer, Oneida, and Madison Counties.
