Lead-Free Mohawk Valley / Lead Safe Utica

*Addresses lead hazards in privately owned housing.
*Aims to prevent childhood lead poisoning by creating lead-safe housing
*Helps homeowners, landlords, and tenants control hazards from lead in paint, soil and dust.
*Works in coordination with HEPA Vacuum Loaner Program and Lead Poisoning Prevention Education
 

Eligibility: Must be below 80% area median income.
Lead Poisoning Prevention Education and HEPA Vacuum Loan Services are provided to any person(s) in Oneida & Herkimer Counties.
To receive Lead Safe Utica grant funding, the qualifying property must be within the city of Utica and built before 1978.

Application Process: Call to make an appointment or apply online at www.leadsafeutica.com

Required Documentation: Applicants must be current on utilites and taxes and provide: -Proof of income -Proof of address

Fees: There is no fee for service, if applicant qualifies for the Lead Safe Utica Program or for Lead Poisoning Prevention Education materials. HEPA Vacuum Loan Program requires a refundable deposit.
