Foster Grandparent Program (FGP)

Gives senior citizens the opportunity to share their lifetime skills, talents, and abilities with youth with a developmental and/or learning disability. Foster grandparents can spend 15 to 40 hours each week at local elementary schools, daycare centers, and head start sites, giving one-to-one attention, encouragement, and support to children needing assistance in overcoming physical, mental, social and emotional obstacles.

Eligibility: Individuals ages 55 years or older, in good health, able to serve at least 15 hours a week, with access to transportation and meet federal eligibility requirements

Required Documentation: Required documentation will be provided after the completion of the initial intake by Central Intake Receptionists, FGP Program Director or Program Assistant
