New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD)

Responsible for coordinating services for New Yorkers with developmental disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorders, and other neurological impairments. Provides services directly and through a network of nonprofit service providing agencies and state-run services.
Eligibility: New York State residents who have mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, or other neurological impairments that originated before they were 22 years old, and - are expected to continue indefinitely - substantially impact that person's ability to function normally within society
